As per the complaint filed, the royalties generated from the song were illegally diverted, which caused a huge financial loss. Senior executives of Believe Music India, along with foreign music publishing executives, have been named as accused in the case, according to the police. It is being alleged that the accused manipulated digital records and misappropriated royalty payments through unauthorised channels.
The dismissal of the anticipatory bail will allow the police to continue the ongoing probe and proceed with further legal action against the accused. An investigating officer said, “The allegations involve serious financial irregularities and misuse of intellectual property rights. The investigation is at a crucial stage.”
All contractual agreements, royalty statements, digital distribution records, and international publishing arrangements are being examined by the police to trace the alleged diversion of funds.
